Time with agency: January 2021- June 2021
Title: Social Media Community Manager (Internship)
Nine Supply Co is a local creative agency that focuses primarily on digital strategy for brands. Based in Austin, TX, this collective works with local, national, and international clients and concentrates on social media strategy, influencer marketing, photography, and graphic design.
I was hired on as an intern to manage the social communities for six Nine Supply clients across different platforms, outsource influencers and manage influencer relations, complete social audits and present social trend reports to improve content creativity and effectiveness.
As a social community manager, I answered comments and DMs, engaged with followers, reposted positive user reviews and experiences, created and posted stories to incite engagement, and managed large-scale giveaways for popular products. I spent the majority of my time on Instagram and Facebook due to the volume of engagement coming from those platforms and have an in-depth knowledge of how to get the most out of organic social and IG & FB ads. One of my proudest accomplishments was helping grow Scotty’s Everyday IG following from 0 to 1,500 followers in four months through primarily organic social engagement.
Another role I evolved into was scheduling posts and creating SEO-friendly copy for clients. I became familiar with Later and Hootsuite (scheduling software) and the formula for captions that stayed true to the brand, engaged users, and offered a call-to-action that would eventually lead followers to brand websites.
I managed relations with 100+ influencers for multiple clients and organized influencer campaigns quarterly. This involved doing a lot of research to find brand-friendly influencers for each client, reaching out and maintaining constant communication with creators, facilitating negotiations between creator and client, and adhering to the client’s brand and budget. For each campaign, I kept track of product orders sent out, giveaways, and payments received on time.
One of my (favorite) roles while at the agency was creating social trend reports and presenting my findings to the team. This involved doing in-depth research on what trends were popping off, what graphics were engaging more users, what copy would improve call-to-actions, and how brands could better relate to their audience. As an avid content consumer, I’m aware of how fast-paced the internet moves, so creating these reports helped my team produce content that was fun and trendy for our clients.
