Lago Vista ISD Education Foundation

Work history: August 2022- present

Position: Volunteer

Lago Vista ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started in 1999 to enhance education in the Lago Vista Independent School District. As a former graduate from Lago Vista Elementary, Middle, and High School, I’m aware of the impact the independent district had on my academic career. I’m a big believer in giving back to the organizations and communities that help prop you up, which is why I became an LVISDEF volunteer.

2022- 2023 Campaign(s) Graphics

2022 #GivingTuesday Campaign

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages communities to give back to their favorite nonprofits or charities. There are plenty of nonprofits in the Lago Vista community, which is why LVISEDF asked me to create #GivingTuesday graphics for them.

The goal in designing these visuals was to inform the community about what LVISDEF does for the school district and create an effective call-to-action that would get more people to donate to the foundation. In total, more than $12,466 was donated to the foundation from this campaign.

2023 Souper Bowl Sunday Raffle

Every year, the foundation hosts a variety of events to help fundraise money for ISD teachers, students, and scholarships. The Souper Bowl Sunday Raffle is an event centered around the Big Game where winners are delivered a gourmet dinner for eight that Sunday evening.

I was asked to design graphics that could be shared on socials and printed out on flyers to increase community awareness and entice more people to purchase raffle tickets. All in all the raffle generated $5,515 which was then used to help fund scholarships for high school seniors looking to pursue higher education.

Below are a couple of graphics used for the promotion of each fundraiser.

LVISDEF Website Redesign

In late 2022, I was asked by the LVISDEF President to revamp and update the foundation’s website. Although I had VERY limited knowledge of website design, I decided to take on this challenge and use this as a learning experience. My goal was to create a fully functional site that could be easily navigated, included all the necessary information and external links (including socials) and had a cohesive design.

After two weeks of learning website design and applying that knowledge, the site was updated and the site’s traffic and average session duration increased.
