Work history: February 2022- present
Position: Project Manager
Carlton Ranch Resort is a budding property management company that allows travelers to experience the Hill Country in beautiful houses and lodges. The company was started in early 2022 and continues to grow each month. Since its initial opening to the public in June of 2022, the company has generated over $120,000 in revenue and has received repeat bookings from happy guests.
I’ve been part of the company since its conception and it holds a special place in my heart. Gayle’s Getaway, the first CRR property, was originally the home of my late grandparents, Preston & Gayle Carlton. The house was built with so much love, so we wanted to share the home with people in search of a place to make memories filled with love.
I loosely call myself the company project manager because I’ve managed several different ongoing projects from renovation to branding and advertising. During the beginning stages of renovation, I was in charge of carrying out the visual makeover (like painting, refurbishment, etc) and outsourcing services the company could not do itself.
Another project I focused on was taking and editing photos of the property for the listings on Airbnb, VRBO, and the company website. I love a good challenge. I was comfortable using a camera and familiar with Adobe Photoshop, but I did have to learn the intricacies of taking good real estate photos. Angles, lighting, exposure, and ultimately A LOT of editing. Below are photo examples.
Nowadays, a lot of my work is centered around polishing the CRR brand identity. While I was at Nongirly, I was able to see first-hand how the creation of a brand happens and learned a lot about the different elements that make for a strong brand identity. As the company continues to expand, I’ll be creating more advertising and PR media that will help us meet our business and consumer objectives.
Below is the brand media deck I created and other graphic elements I had a part in designing.
